If your organisation uses Autodesk Inventor, you may not be utilising the Bill of Materials (BOM) or BOM tool.

The BOM is not the same as the parts list that is often included in drawings. It is an overarching element in Autodesk Inventor and the parts list is pulled directly from the BOM.

We all need an accurate bill of materials and some of us don’t even use that option, which is available in the Autodesk Inventor assembly environment.

See our overview video below which explains how to adjust assembly template files to make your bill of materials more usable.

Graitec run a number of Autodesk Inventor training courses for all abilities, so if you are looking at learning more about the features and tools available in Inventor, just head over to our web page or click on the button below to request more information.
