New computing capabilities enhance business agility
Your structural calculations and building analysis workflows can improve with the new features included in Advance Design 2024.
- Carbon emission estimates – Determination of CO2 emissions based on carbon factors entered for materials and/or elements. Your path to designing a more sustainable future just got easier with the new CO2 emission calculator in Advance Design 2024. The calculator enables you to determine embodied carbon values more easily for structural elements and better assess the environmental impacts of the choices you make with structural elements and construction materials. The fundamental principle of an embodied carbon calculation is typically to multiply the quantity of a material by a carbon factor (normally measured in kgCO2e per kg of material). As the embodied carbon associated with the production stage is the largest contributor to the embodied carbon of a finished structure, production stage carbon factors (carbon factors for the production stage – modules A1-A3) are used for these calculations.

- Cost estimations – Determination of costs based on unit prices for materials and/or elements.
You can better assess the economic impact of the choices you make on structural elements and construction materials using the new Advance Design Cost Calculator.

- Displacement control nonlinear analysis – Broaden your ability to conduct nonlinear calculations using displacement increment steps.
Correctly analyse highly nonlinear problems with post-peak behaviours and easily manage snap-through problems.
Displacement control solver capturing the entire structural response.
(F – Load, D – Displacement, d – Equal displacement increments)
- Defining initial constraints on linear elements per load case – Make easier decisions around defining and considering initial constraints. Include initial constraints more easily in combinations, as well as considering their impact on the rest of the structure.
